Words

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

It so happens that outside of the time I spend trying to help solve the current global financial crisis, I spend a great deal of my time searching for a certain amount of “enlightenment.”  As it so happens, recently (in the past day or two) I think I crossed a hurdle.  And in so doing, it made me curious to look up the definitions of a few “words” that I have been giving consideration.  Now I would like to share with you my findings:

Globalnomics

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Globalnomics is a fully integrated philosophical and scientific discipline that is based upon global rather than nationalistic perspectives. Whereas, the foundation of Globalnomics is based upon a clearly defined, commonly accepted, core set of world principals, the building blocks that shape the discipline come from the latest concepts and theories from the science of economics.

Pure Consciousness–The Fifth Dimension

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Drawing conceptually from Franklin Merrell-Wolff’s Experience and Philosophy and somewhat from Wilber’s wave theory of consciousness, I have developed my own simplified view and structure for the different levels of consciousness that we as human beings experience. My simplified structure consists of the following Five Dimensions: (more…)

Virtues Humbly Defined (Explained)

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

During the consideration that resulted in the formulation of my Pyramid of Virtues, I reviewed the thoughts and ideas of several philosophers and spiritual leaders before me. As part of that process I came across several different definitions (or explanations) offered for the various items that form my Pyramid. Now, I humbly submit my own definition (or explanation) for the virtues of my Pyramid, beginning with Love and ending appropriately with Poverty of Spirit. (more…)

Loose Ends - 1

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Since posting my most recent blog, Exponential Reality, I have been making decisions as to how to proceed forward with this portion of my website. As part of that decision process, I have been going through a mixed conglomeration of notes regarding ideas for consideration for future writings (i.e., aphorisms, poems, short stories, novel scenes, etc.). Some of the looser (less detailed) of those notes I compiled into something that I have favorably come to call–Loose Ends. The first set of my Loose Ends follow below: (more…)

Exponential Reality

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

The following is an 18-line poem or sutra that I have called Exponential Reality. If one follows the argument that I am professing throughout this website then the inevitable outcome leads to Exponential Reality and Exponential Goodness.

Just to make this poem a little more interesting, I have added my own belief of what it must mean to be Enlightened. It kind of makes me laugh. (more…)

The Primal Force

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

This is a very short 4-line poem or sutra which I have come to call The Primal Force. Gravity has played an important role in my life, and so this is my short little tribute to it and to Love. I find it interesting how a Physical Force such as Gravity has similar traits as the Metaphysical Force of Love. I think it could make one curious. (more…)

Before You Give ForGive

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

The following is a 27-line poem or sutra that I have called Before You Give ForGive. The purpose for this piece is to show how Truth works, and how it works regardless of what level you are thinking upon. (more…)

My Tribute to Thoreau

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

There was a period in my life that I was inspired by the writings of Henry David Thoreau And although I know I risk being criticized for unoriginality, I would like to once again look back at some of the words Thoreau used that especially inspired me. Those words and my own ending comment (after my own Walden experience) follow: (more…)

Thought Versus the Essence of Mind

Monday, January 14th, 2008

On one’s way to enlightenment (or Essence of Mind) there is no better warning for the aspirant than the one that says “You’re Thinking Too Much.” In other words, the Essence of Mind (or original enlightenment) is free from Thoughts. The Essence of Mind is Eternal, non-changing, and thus must be empty of changing thoughts.

It is important to understand that Knowledge is different from Wisdom, and Knowledge derived from Thoughts does not lead to Enlightenment. In other words, words are words, thoughts are thoughts, and neither lead to True Wisdom or Enlightenment. (more…)
