The Wisest of the Wise

The Wisest of the Wise is in a draft (detailed outline) stage and tells the story of how eight monks from the Monastery of Divine Awareness compete for the title of “the wisest of the wise” in a survival-like television show under the same name. Although the initials for the show’s network, TWT, were derived from its founder and current chief executive officer, Thomas W. Thurow, around the water coolers and coffee canteens of the other network organizations, TWT had become known to stand for Totally Worthless Television.

The names of the eight monks that compete for the title of the wisest of the wise are: (1) Eldest; (2) Homely; (3) Big Person; (4) Young One; (5) Beautiful; (6) Tiny; (7) Peace; and (8) Common. Throughout the contest many esoteric topics of spiritual and mystical concern are discussed and presented. The plot builds as one monk after another presents his or her claim for the title to become “the wisest of the wise.”
